Spatial Design Concept
Every decision in this home—every focal point of discussion—centers on the children: whether they will like it, whether it will be safe, and whether it will make them feel at ease. Enlarged window sills create safe perches for playful moments, while handle-free cabinetry minimizes the risk of bumps and collisions. The bedrooms glow in the children’s favorite colors, and the semi-open public areas facilitate constant bonding, ensuring the family can always remain connected.
Situated on the first floor of an old, narrow apartment flanked by neighboring buildings, the residence maximizes light and air. Enlarged windows and skylights usher in abundant sunlight, while the thoughtful addition of more windows and strategic alignment with the rear balcony establishes natural cross-ventilation. This not only refreshes the indoor air but also prevents dampness, creating a healthy and comfortable environment for long-term living.
Natural, rustic materials with rich textures embody the love of parents for their children—quiet, intangible, yet endlessly abundant. The angled cuts and layered composition of deeply grained veneer mirror that love, encircling the children layer upon layer, ring upon ring, never ceasing. Accents of playful colors chosen by the two daughters, along with thoughtful, child-friendly details, reveal a tender affection woven throughout the space. It reflects a belief that growing up in an environment filled with love is the most nurturing form of support.
